Hi friends. Long time no talk.
A few of you have reached out to me, online and in person, wanting to check in. Which makes me think many of you have been wondering how I am, without saying anything. So let me tell you what’s been going on.
The short answer is that I’m doing great. Really great.
Our son Isaiah was born at home on Monday May 4th in a planned homebirth, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. At the time, he was nine pounds eight ounces, just shy of 22 inches. He’s doubled his weight since then. My wife, my son, and my daughter are blessings from God that I did nothing to earn.
And for the last three months, I’ve chosen to sit back and be a dad. Interviews and articles take a certain kind of focus for me, and I thought that focus belonged at home. I don’t regret that decision, and I’d do it again.
Before I tell you what’s coming next, though, there’s a piece of business I owe you.
Just before I went on break, I recorded the last episode of the Black Sun Book Club, covering the conclusion of Goodrick-Clarke’s book. It’s been sitting on my hard drive since April, which I feel a little guilty about. Lord willing, it’ll be coming out shortly.
That will conclude the book study. So if you started Black Sun and drifted away during the process, I don’t blame you. It’s a dense, scholarly work that discusses heavy material. So now might be a good time to go back to the beginning and refresh your memory. All the sessions will be waiting in both audio and video format. I’m also planning another book club, once the podcast starts up again.
Which brings me to what’s next, because I am indeed coming back!
I plan to start new interviews soon, and release them on the regular schedule.
I’ve also got a long (and growing!) list of people I want to sit down with: authors, CEOs, influencers, executive producers, a former Hindu guru, and even a man who used to run with a white power skinhead gang.
And I want to bring back some of my biggest former guests, to catch up with them on their work.
So that’s the plan. But don’t think that these past few months have only been late nights, diapers, and silence. Some good things have happened along the way.
The first is that I sat down with Daily Wire co-founder Jeremy Boreing on his excellent new podcast, and that conversation ended up being one of the most-watched livestreams they’ve ever done. If you missed it, it’s worth your time. And Jeremy’s new show has become can’t-miss material for our household.
The second is that on Friday September 18 I’m heading to Moscow, ID to deliver a Disputatio talk to the undergraduates and faculty at New Saint Andrews College.
This talk means a great deal to me, for reasons you can probably understand. I’ve put a lot into it. It’ll be recorded, too, so you’ll get to see it even if you can’t be in the room.
And the third is that I’ve spent part of this break rebuilding pieces of my mentorship program. I’ve created a new visual structure for the core pillars of the mentorship, making it the most intuitive version of the work I’ve offered.
So if you’re a man at a hinge point in life—getting married, becoming a father, or looking back at parts of life you’ve skipped—you can find the program here. I’d love to talk with you.
I’ve also been working on a couple side projects I can’t say much about yet. When I can, you’ll hear about them here first.
So that’s where I’ve been. Home, mostly. Enjoying my family and getting ready.
Thank you for all your messages and the prayers. I mean that. They mean a lot to me, because they remind me of the contribution.
Black Sun conclusion drops soon. I’ll be in Moscow on September 18. More interviews, articles, and another book club after that.
Who do you want me to talk to?
I’ve got a long list, but I’d rather hear yours. Leave a comment with a guest you want me to sit down with, or a topic you want covered when the podcast comes back and I start writing again.
