From Revolutionary Spirit to Vengeful Son: Tracing 250 Years of Spiritual Destruction
Understanding Why This Generation Wants to Burn Everything Down
After my conversation with Jason Mironchuk, I’ve been wrestling with something that’s hard to put into words. Jason claims that we’re living through what he calls the age of the “Vengeful Son”—and once you see it, you kinda can’t unsee it.
Jason, who recently began his catechism in the Russian Orthodox Church after moving his family from Montreal to Western Australia, has developed a framework that explains our current moment with startling clarity. It’s not comfortable. But comfort isn’t what we need right now.
The Four-Phase Revolution
What Jason laid out is a 250-year spiritual destruction that’s moved through four distinct phases.
First came the Revolutionary Spirit, overthrowing kings and traditional governance.
Then the Tyrannical Father—broken men returning from horrific wars, emotionally distant, sometimes violent.
This gave way to the Devouring Mother, the feminized spirit that’s dominated our culture since the 1960s.
Now we’ve reached the final phase: the Vengeful Son.
These aren’t just angry young men posting edgy content online. Jason shared numbers that stopped me cold: over 100,000 American children have been given puberty blockers since 1990. These drugs were originally developed for chemical castration of convicted pedophiles. These kids are discovering they’ve been permanently sterilized, robbed of their future ability to have children or experience normal sexuality.
Here’s a clip:
When every authority figure—parents, doctors, teachers, government—has lied to you, when you realize you’ve been chemically castrated based on a lie, when you live in a country with 400 million guns... Jason calls this the “army of the vengeful son.”
After what happened with Charlie Kirk, after the Nashville shooting, after Minneapolis, the pattern is becoming undeniable.
Dead Souls and Prophetic Warnings
Jason shared something that’s haunted me since our conversation. A 20th century prophecy in the Eastern Orthodox church apparently warned that “the next generation won’t give birth to normal ordinary children, but to demonic children.”
Not demons with horns—children born without the capacity for sainthood. Dead souls in living bodies. The prophecy, given about 50 years ago, specifically pointed to our current generation.
When Jason mentioned that barely 50% of Gen Z believes political violence is ever unjustified, compared to 90% of Boomers, I found it hard to disagree.
The Liberal Frame Is Luciferian
This was perhaps the most challenging part of our discussion. Jason argues that all post-Enlightenment ideologies—left and right—exist within what he calls a “liberal frame.” This frame is fundamentally Luciferian, inverting God’s virtues and exalting our passions.
Individualism becomes pride.
Materialism reduces us to “chemical processing units.”
Evolution teaches us we’re nothing, from nothing, heading to nothing.
When you stack these inversions for 250 years, when you systematically destroy every sacred category—king, father, mother, and finally child—you get a generation capable of unimaginable destruction.
The Prodigal Son Returns
But here’s where hope enters the conversation. Jason pointed to the explosion in church attendance, particularly after the Charlie Kirk incident. Young men are returning to faith in what he describes as “walls”—massive numbers seeking something real after recognizing the nihilistic void they’ve been sold.
The prodigal son ate with pigs before recognizing his degradation. He returned to his father with humility, the one virtue Satan lacks.
Jason’s prescription is clear: Return. Repent. Rebuild. Not through violence or vengeance, but through genuine submission to Christ—not just on our lips, but in our hearts.
What struck me most was Jason’s admission that at 48, he’s still learning to distinguish between righteous anger and sinful wrath. “We don’t have the moral brakes,” he said.
If a mature man recognizes this in himself, what about younger men swimming in testosterone and fed a steady diet of online rage?
Ideologies Die in the Church
Jason made a claim that I was grateful to hear: “Ideologies die in the church.” When you truly encounter Christ, your political programming—whether left or right—begins to fade. The church becomes a hospital for spiritual sickness, a place where the passions that drive us toward destruction can finally be healed.
This isn’t about picking the “right” denomination. As Jason carefully noted, he speaks for himself, not for the Orthodox Church. But across all authentic Christian traditions, the same pattern emerges: genuine faith transforms vengeful sons into humble servants.
The bitter white pill, as Jason calls it, is that violence is likely coming regardless. The spiritual sickness runs too deep, the betrayals too complete, the weapons too plentiful. But how we respond—whether we add to the destruction or work toward rebuilding—that choice remains ours.
After spending hours with Jason unpacking these ideas, I’m convinced of this: we’re not just facing a political crisis or a cultural war. We’re in a spiritual battle for the soul of a generation. And the only weapon that works against spiritual darkness is the light of Christ.
